hi ppl...
happi the man who made u with ur mom day...
went to ah mah hse early in the morning to pray...
pay respect to my male ancestors
maybe bcos it is father's day...
so i went there..
and watch them preform a few rituals.
ritual 1
simple praying...
u take a couple of joss sticks
depending on the number of hu ever up there u have to pay respect to...
light them up...
and put them in a pot.
ritual 2
check whether ur ancestors have finished their meal.
take two coins.
and throw them in frnt of the table
which is in front of of the altar...
if the coins show different faces ..
u are done...
it is ur time to have ur meal..
if the two coins show same faces.
try again later..
ritual 3.
burning of incense paper.
a circle of white powder is laid around the incense paper burner.
whatever burned inside the circle goes up...
it is like a form of damage control...
things onli get burn in the circle....
ritual 4
this is something that i used to do when i was younger...
alot younger...
very simple.
all u need is 40 pieces of paper
divide them into 4 groups
and write 0-9 on the ten pieces of paper in each grp.
now u place every thing in a can...
for my ah mah..
they got this yellow cup...
which they have been using for years...
now you get a child in the family ...
most prob younger than 5
u give him/her the cup...
ask her to pickout four piece of paper...
pls shake before use.


ritual 5...
go to the back of my ah mah hse
and stared at a particular junior college
and start wondering why u cannot get ur ass in...
